Is there any way to disable Dolby Vision on Apple TV Plex?

I understand that Plex on the Apple TV can’t directly play my UHD BD backups due to a lack of Profile 7 Dolby Vision support.

Unfortunately, with my Sony A80J when I play one of these DV enabled files, I get “fake DV”, with the television enabling DV support. The files are, of course, unwatchable; crushed black point and the incorrect colours.

Infuse gets around this by simply ignoring the DV layer in these files and playing them as pure HDR.

Is there any way to get Plex to do this as well? I don’t want to have to disable DV on my Apple TV as all my other apps (Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney, etc) play DV profile 5 just fine.

Sadly not.

Infuse it is then.

It’s crazy how every time I have another issue with the Plex player the answer comes back the same: just use Infuse.
