Double-Nat situation

Hi!
I’m new to Plex and I’m trying to setup Remote Access. Though, my router IP is different than the IP shown on canyouseeme.org. On the website, my IP starts with 119.114.XXX.XXX so I believe I have a public IP (so no carrier-grade-NAT?). The Internet is already provided in the building I live. I do have a router in my room that’s setup as Wireless router (not Access Point or Range Extender) so it has it’s own IP (192.168.XX.XXX).

I can’t access ISP modem I don’t even know what is the ISP. So what can I do with my router to enable Remote Access? I tried forwarding ports but it doesn’t do anything Plex still says I might have Double-Nat situation.

Thank you!

Router : TP-Link Archer C20
Server Version#: 4.18.1

You do have a double nat situation. Go to your router wan status and you’ll see that the router’s gateway probably is a non-valid IP address. If you can’t access the internet router or ask someone to create a manual port forwarding for you, I don’t think you’ll be able to access your server remotely

If the ip in canyouseeme.org and your WAN-IP is not the same, then the WAN-IP is already natted. You need to ask your isp to forward a port to your router and forward that ip to the host in your network that runs the plex server. If you are not able to get the “outer portwarding” to happen, then remote access will not work.

Thanks! The IP works but I obviously don’t have the credentials to access the modem! maybe I could find the ISP and call them.

Thanks! I’ll see if I can contact them.

your best bet would be to setup your router as an access point. not sure what your situation is in terms of network security but if you’re not able to get access to the modem or main router, this might be your only option.
