In plex as an admin I get the option to upload a subtitle, but where is that subtitle saved? And is it permanent? I have search in the plex articles but only found this which was related to the topic but doesn’t answer my question https://support.plex.tv/articles/import-or-delete-a-subtitle-file/. They aren’t “sidecar” subtitles files because I can’t find them alongside the episode.
The subtitle is saved in the metadata area.
If you ever re-initialized (started over), the subtitle would be gone.
IMHO, you’re better off directly placing the subtitle file with your media so it’s permanent.
