Download button missing on FireTV Tablet

Server Version#: unknown
Player Version#: 9.12.2.36964 (054b7995)

I updated my FireTv app today and can no longer see the download button against any movie or show. If I use plex on an iOS device (iPad or iPhone) then the download buttons are there and work.

Can someone help? Is there a setting I’m missing to enable the download button on the FireTv app?

As long as the signed in account has a Plex Pass and permission to download from the source it should be there. There is not any setting to configure in app. I would think screen size would not be an issue for a tablet but check the overflow menu for the option ( the three dots) or in the library grid of movie poster or TV shows long press on a poster to bring up menu which should also have option.

Only reason i can think it might not is if it cannot connect to plex.tv to check the status of your subscription+server download permissions which would need to check logs for.

Ah. Found it. It wasn’t in the “three dot” menu… but I noticed there was a small white dot between the mark-as-viewed “tick” and the “three dot” menu. When I press the small white dot it started the download.

It’s odd though as the usual download icon now appears to be a small white dot!

Sounds like it may be having trouble rendering. I am not aware of any design change with that as far as what it should look like but there may be something in the underlying design framework that changed causing the issue on some devices.

Would you mind letting me know which model Fire Tablet you have.

Might be model specific.

I’ve the 2021 FireHD 10 (KFTRWI) w/ Plex client 9.12.2.36964.

The download button looks the same as on my Pixel 6a, a white circle with a downward pointing arrow.
