Basically enabling piracy. Of course they won’t do that.
Why not sync?
@danjames92 then, whole internet is piracy.
and think about users, have login on the plex, but not the bandwith to watch…
and, why is it then possible for superuser…?
You can do a plex server and share the super user account, if you want piracy
@Night i will check the option, thanks for constructive tipps

A lot of the internet is piracy. Because it’s media you’ve ripped from your own collection allowing others to download a copy is copyright infringement technically.
I have home videos that I’d like family members to be able to download. That is not piracy.

No, it’s not. And you can use Dropbox, Box.net, Google Drive, OneDrive, DVD media, USB drives, etc to get them these videos. Plex is a client/server media playing solution, not a file-sharing or file-distribution solution.

Well judgeing by some cases around the world plex in it self would be a piracy platfrom , eg popcorn***** and verius services like that , would it not?
Good question. I’ve wondered about this, and I get the media playing versus downloading distinction. Without it, isn’t Plex in the same boat as Napster was years ago?
I’ve been reluctant to share media because it seemed legally gray at best to me. My own media is all derived from physical media I have kept in possession, and that I paid for I might add.
Another reason is that my upload speed is at best about 1,000 kbps, and wouldn’t support a lot of folks access my media.
