When I search for subtitles for a movie that they weren’t ripped with, they download fine and I can adjust them with all the styling I want and set up the offset so they line up properly with the movie, but then if I switch the subtitles back to none because I don’t always want them on, the subtitles I had just spent time getting all set up are deleted and my only option is to search for them again and go through all the setup again!? Surely this isn’t intentional, is there not a way to save these subtitles after I make my adjustments so I can just turn them on and off when I want them?
well, that’s frustrating. Sometimes I only want them on when the room is noisy, or if I’m eating something crunchy, or sometimes I like to have them on but someone I might watch with once in a while doesn’t like them and so I want to turn them off temporarily.
Well, if it was designed that way on purpose I guess there’s nothing I can do. Thanks.
That’s why I download and save them. I compare them on opensubtitles.org and download them. After this I name them like /media/movies/Avatar (2009)/Avatar (2009).eng.srt and put them to the movie directory. It’s a bit of work but for me (english is not my main language) it is easier than searching for subtitles all over again. Beside: these srt files are usually only around 100 kB big so storage is not a problem!
