Downloading files for offline play keeps failing

Server Version#: 1.22.2.4282
Player Version#: 1.30.1.2115-81e1fc3f

When I try to download media for offline playback on my Plex client for MacOS, I get the error: “Encountered network error while grabbing media”

I am remotely accessing my Plex server, the port is passed through just fine on my router. I can access http://<server_ip>:32400. I regularly stream content from the server.

Recently, I’ve been having some issues with my MacOS client buffering or the stream quitting, which doesn’t seem to be the case on my Google TV, but I haven’t tracked down that issue yet. However, I’m totally unable to download media for offline playback. I have no other troubles with the laptop except when connected to Plex.

The logs show as follows:

The “stream truncated” or “dropping connection” happens a few times and eventually the client fails the download with the above error about failed to grab media.

This was resolved by a total purge of everything Plex-related on my laptop (caches, application support data, application - everything), and then redownloading and reinstalling Plex.

I had tried reinstalling Plex in the past but apparently I needed to give it a total wipe and start over.
