New Plex Player Mac - Download feature problem

Trying to us Download feature of new Plex app for Mac. I always get error dialog “We were unable to prepare your download. Please try again later.”

The media in question does play with both video and audio showing as “Direct Play”. However, all media I have tried results in the error message given above.

Any suggestions as to how to resolve?

I would also add that the player does not perform well. It appears to be dropping frames. When playing with the Plex app it has a stop motion effect. However it plays smoothly in VLC with the media remote mounted from the same server. Thus far I am disappointed in the new Plex player.

I too am having this problem when trying to download. Any recommendations?
