Downloading only unplayed episodes with new desktop app (Mac)

Is there any way to download only unplayed episodes with the new desktop app? It seems if I choose either “Next X episodes” or “Latest X episodes”, Plex will still download already played episodes.

With sync in the iOS app, you can choose to only download unplayed episodes and set a limit on the number of episodes to download. The sync system is much better than the new desktop downloads.

Yeah, there are definitely some bugs with the download functionality. Plex is aware of them.
