Downloading

Hello,
Was trying to download a full music album in my plex library but couldn’t. is there an option? The only option I saw for downloading were the singles songs in the album.
Thanks

Which app type were you using?

I tried it from logging on to my plex account on my laptop

There are currently 4 different plex apps, which can run on a laptop.
What is the name of the icon which you are using to start this plex client?

sorry, I misunderstood you. I use plex with synology. I have all songs on synology I just use plex to organize.

That is the “web app”. It doesn’t support Syncing/downloading – with one exception:
The server owner is allowed to download single media files with it. But that means you cannot download all tracks of an album in one rush.

If you are looking for a capability to download / Sync similarly (but not quite like) on the mobile platforms, you need to download and install Plex for Windows / Plex for Mac.
Download link below.

ah ok i see now. could you send the link I don’t see it in your last message. Thanks for your help!

I did not post a link. If you are looking at the forum, you only need to scroll all the way down to see the download links.

ok will do. thanks again

Otto,
Sorry I might have confused you from the original post. What i do is organize my music that is on my synology with plex. It has the plex media server installed on it. When i’m on the plex web app it allows me to “download file” to my laptop/desktop but NOT the full album (which you stated before.) I’ve installed the “plex for mac” app and it show option to “download” both a single song & a full album to the plex downloads folder. There is no option to “download file” to desktop. That’s what I really want to do is to search through plex, find an album or single song and download it to my computer desktop instead of mounting my synology drive and doing it from there. I love the plex search engine and wanted to see if this can be done with it.

Plex for Mac downloads media to your Mac, not to the NAS.

You cannot change the download location. You can use a Symlink to have the folder appear on your Desktop.

See Windows & Mac Desktop documentation. Specifically, Download Content for Offline Access.

ok will try this, thanks
