Downloads functionality almost useless

I paid for Plex Pass in order to have download capabilities. I travel often and when I want to turn on videos to go to sleep, the only way I can play more than one file at a time is to play directly from the server, which is difficult from many hotel wifi connections.

Again, as a paying customer, the current iOS app has removed many functions that I used to have:

  1. Play and/or shuffle all downloads or a playlist of downloaded titles
  2. The ability to delete more than one download at a time (absolutely mind boggling that this was missed)
  3. The ability to play more than one downloaded file in sequence

If these are not on the block to be returned to the previous state soon, there should be a way for us to return to the previous functionality until you fix this mess.

At a minimum, I would like to know when we will have the ability to play a list of downloaded titles or just shuffle all downloaded files and they will play nonstop from the local device until stopped.

This is an EXCELLENT question, and the fact that no one at Plex has answered is really disturbing. I’ve been using Plex for over a decade now, and this is absurd. I’m finally considering making a jump to another platform. Why do Android users have the ability to downgrade to a previous version, but Plex forces iOS users whatever version they have posted on the app store?

I’m so disappointed.

Just jumped into the app to clean up some old downloads that are taking up space to find this new design.

Several problems with it:

  • All my downloads show as individual items, seasons downloads of TV shows are not grouped together. The list isn’t even in order of season or episode.
  • None of the files are showing cover art.
  • No option to select multiple files at once.
  • I have to swipe to delete each individual episode followed by a confirmation dialogue box for each one.

This is just from a minute in the app to clear out some downloads. Now I need to spend the next 10 minutes swiping through several seasons of TV shows to clear up some space. It is very inefficient.

Please look to improving functionality when it comes to managing downloads within the app.
