I had to delete and reinstall the iOS client to get downloads to work at all (sync has always worked fine), however I seem to have a glitch for some files that froze when the iPad locked that needed transcoding.
I’ve deleted those files from the download queue and kicked them off again, but they never seem to download.
The Download section shows the downward arrow, and the server status shows it’s transcoding the file, but then the downward arrow in the mobile client disappears completely (while the file is still transcoding), and never reappears.
Once the server says transcoding has finished, the server status goes back to nothing in progress, but nothing downloads. The mobile client says there is a download in progress from the downloads menu, but no progress indicator or any apparent activity against the file itself.
I don’t want to reinstall the app again, as I’ve had to download 11 files already, and don’t want to start again.
Anyone have any ideas on how to check the download status, make it reappear of give it a kick to make sure the download is happening when the transcode has finished?
Your logs indicate the app is having trouble finding the things you’ve downloaded. I posted this summary of known issues. Update on new Downloads feature
The download doesn’t show as complete though. The server status gets to the end of transcode and the client says downloading but the status wheel disappears.
I did manage to download some other files previously after I completely deleted the app from my iPad but I now have about 13 films downloaded and don’t really want to do that all again. It hasn’t worked since.
I’ve tried a number of different files and they all do the same at the minute
If it is number one then there’s no workaround - does that mean the sync function will remain until fixed? Otherwise I have no way of storing offline content
Can you get me the xml info for the movie “No Time to Dies”? That is the last movie I see you trying to download. PMS shows it did transcode the file and I do not see it downloading into the iPad.
