I have noticed, as I don’t use downloads a lot, but over the last month I have been trying to on my commutes to work via train. Service is spotty. I’ve noticed when the app is in “offline” mode downloads won’t play. In fact, I can never just click the video to start it from the download page. However once I get a stable enough internet connection if I browse to the movie it will play and will definitely play the downloaded file because I know my service is way to spotty for it to play a movie that wasn’t downloaded.
Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? I’m not really sure what a log would provide as essentially it just never loads the movie when trying to play it. I’ve tried downloading different file sizes as well. I am on iOS26, the latest beta app (although it’s been happening for a month) and have an iPhone 17 pro max.
