Can we talk about what a mess downloads in iOS is? There is absolutely no logical reason why just a few gigs of data takes hours, sometimes DAYS, to download to the device. Sync took minutes at most, What’s worse is I can’t even get it to stop. clicking “cancel download” legitimately does nothing at all.
To all Plex Devs: This is absolutely the worst experience you have ever released. Please, for the love of god, swallow your pride, abandon downloads, and bring back sync… something that ACTUALLY functions as it should and does not require hours/days of finagling from your customers.
To make matters worse… after it does miraculously download, it will occasionally delete entire albums. I synced 13 albums for a long trip in a low-connectivity area, and by day 3 of the trip only four albums remained. I let it re-download the rest, and by day 8 it had lost eleven of them.
I’m not low on space, by any means… but I imagine one connectivity failure too many could result in Plex deciding that I’m not entitled to my own content.
i find that movies seem to be ok. they still take a long time to download, and unlikely if not on the same network, but they dont delete and they work. TV shows ONLY work if you mark a few episodes at a time to download, but who the hell has time for that? Typical software development. Lets take a system that works, with little issue, and destroy it for no reason at all.
