Server Version#: Latest as of 10/11/24
Player Version#: Latest as of 10/11/24
So i have Plex installed on a Windows 10 Pro and Synology DS1522+ and both work fine for streaming to other devices in the home, my only issue which is just a niggle not really an issue.
In Plex The Windows PC can see and access the DS1522’s Server but in the DS1522+ It shows the PC server but it’s innacessible.
Both devices are connected via a 10Gbe port for fast file copying and both are also connected to an asus router via 1Gbe for general access/internet access.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
???
Any ideas?
This is most likely because the PC is not signed in and/or claimed.
Open Plex on the NAS by typing in http://NAS-IP-Address:32400 and then open Plex on the PC using http://PC-IP-Address:32400 and make sure both servers are properly signed in and claimed etc.
Then each server should be able to access the other server.
If that fails, then try removing the 10GbE connection and leave only the 1GbE connection and repeat the above.
Then go to Plex Settings > Server > Network > Preferred Network Interface and make sure you set the correct adapter/IP Address for each server. Use the NAS IP/adapter on the NAS server, PC IP/adapter on the PC server.
BTW: stating Latest as of 10/11/24 tells us precisely nothing about what versions you are actually using. In future, please state the actual version number or N/A if not applicable.
It is signed on both, as i said the other way around works. The Plex on PC can see the Synology server and access it and they both work for streaming to the network so other devices see both. Just the Synology Plex that shows the Main-PC as unavailable but the PC itself is available for anything else, so it’s just plex
The 10Gbe i unplugged and it made no difference, the 1Gbe was already set as default.
I deauthorised both and re-signed into them and same deal.
On Synology’s Plex the main-pc is there but “unavailable” and on main pc both servers are there and available
As for the server revision, there is only 1 “latest” for both.
PC is running - 1.41.1.9057
Synology is running - DSM7.22 and the same Plex version.
Open Plex on the NAS and go to Plex Settings > Authorised Devices > Server and remove everything except for the last sign-in for the NAS.
Make sure the 10GbE connection is disconnected, then reboot the NAS.
Open Plex on The PC, make sure it is signed in etc. then open Plex for the NAS server and make sure it is signed in and claimed.
Hopefully, the PC will show up as available now.
As for the server version, there are two possible versions you could be using, the public version or the beta version.
Since you don’t have a Plex Pass the Plex downloads page will only offer you the public version, but you could have obtained the beta version from another source.
Hence the request to always give the actual version you are using.
