Today I noticed a banner across the top of my PMS home screen saying there was an update. I couldn’t find this update in my Package Center, so I manually downloaded it and installed it (version 1.12.1.4885-1046ba85f).
After the install - anything I tried to play would eventually give an error “there was a problem playing this item” and only give me a button for “Go Back”. Everything would START playing just fine, and it would even resume where it left off, but I could only watch things for a minute or two and then I’d get the error again.
So I uninstalled this “new” version, and put back the one that is in Package Center (version 1.10.0.4523-648bc61d4).
Now it plays much longer (like 20 minutes or so) - but then it STILL gives me the same error.
I would like to add that I have been using this NAS with Plex ever sense Christmas and it has NEVER done this until today. What can I do to put it back the way it was??
Wonderful, thanks for helping. Im currently back on version 10, not 12… but ill upgrade again if i can understand whats going on.
Im attaching the 2 items you mentioned. This happens on every file, but it happened several times in a row on this file just now.
I can’t find a way to “uninstall”/“reinstall” the plex app, other than to uncheck it and then re-check it.
I’m searching the forums. I want it to ask me to authenticate again at least but it won’t

First - I just logged off the plex app, then restarted the app and gave it a code to sign back in. It’ll only take a few minutes to see if that helped.
Ok - my log out/log in didn’t fix it… so I turned on “log to server” and I’m playing the file some more.

Ok - I’ve been waitching the same movie as yesterday for 20 minutes so far. I need to wait until at least 30 or so minutes before I’m convinced, but so far so good!
Now I wonder if I should go ahead with the manual update, or wait until Package Center tells me there’s an update.
