Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
DSM Version #: 6.2.3-25426
Synology #: DS1019+
CPU #: INTEL Celeron J3455

Hello,
I’m facing front of a corrupted package
just after tried to update PMS from 1.20.3.3483 to 1.21.1.3830
Update took longer as usually and closed with an failed update with mention of another package is already beind in update or uninstall state…? there was only one update at this time.
The Plex package showed an error status at this time and no logs available in the package center :frowning:

I tried to uninstall PMS and again same failure with same mention. nonono pleas try again…
I rebooted the Synology and the reboot didn’t went to a complete restart, nas stay with blinking Led and I forced the shutdown (push the button ! more 3s )with a pry that my volume don’t crash :cold_sweat:.
DSM came back into live, but I’m now still front of the corrupted Plex Package and scare to do another move.
Will now make a backup of my Plex folder and some personnals files, and I need some advise how to proceed to correctly repare the PMS.
I suppose i will definitly need to first uninstal it, If the Syno Package center agree to proceed with, and this is not yet win.
Maybe @trumpy81 or @ChuckPa will agree to give me some help in the following of this restoration PMS ? and hopefully that I will start my 2021 with a good PlexSensationisation

Hey @trumpy81 , tks , your are always ready as i see
here is the pool, all seems to be in good health

I know you will not like to see a raid5 with btrfs… but this Nas must be use as one active backup for business too, not only for PMS, and btrfs file sys is a need for this, ext4 don’t give this possibility.

Yess ! @trumpy81 Plex is now uninstalled…without bad event
I think I must now restart the Nas, isn’t it ?
but there is actually copies jobs in background and they will need approx 1h30 to finish.
tell me if i’m wrong,

  1. going into plex account and remove this PMS
2.after the reboot, i will need to install Plex from Syno Package center
3.start it and redeem it with Plex account
    4.stop PMS
5.re-install the PMS 1.20.3.3483 (the previous version that was working correctly)
and maybe voilà ça marche ?

OR can I go straight to re-install latest PMS version ?

I suppose there was nothing into the logs about the raison of this failed update ?

ok @trumpy81 , I didn’t checked the checksum previously, smart possibility here, as I was connected to the NAS remotly with VPN gateway, and there is chance that the install PKG was indeed corrupted.
Will perform diferently now and direct from a post connected to the same network of the syno.
I didn’t touch at all to the plex user and he is still there, but i looked into the log center from DSM
and there is some trace about change there

are U sugesting here to install directly the latest version of PMS ?

Thank You @trumpy81, I wish you all the best for your year 2021 !

PMS 1.21.1.3830 is now running .
this release apparently broke the control panel…
