DSM 7 Playback fails

Hi,
I’ve just updated to DSM7.0 and have followed the instructions in this thread, but I keep getting the following message on all media in my server when attempting to play:

Installed version of plex is:
1.21.0-3744m (beta)
Permission is set up as posted in this thread:

But still nothing. Are you able to help?

Same problem. None of my music is available. My photos are available. Happened when I upgraded to DSM 7. Thanks for allowing me to hop on the bandwagon. I do not believe permissions is the problem as photos still works. However, I will copy any screenshot you wish.

Trumpy81 - thanks for your assessment. I am now up and running. I followed the steps you suggested and it did NOT fix it. But I see from your reading of the logs that I had a permission issue. So here is what I did. My Photos on Plex worked, so I copied down the permissions for System Internal User, Local Users and Local Groups. This is on my NAS under Control Panel>Shared Folder>Photo>Edit>Permissions. Then I replicated the same permissions under my Music and Plex folders. I say same but some of the programs that use Music are different than Photos. Anyhow, I am good. I thank you for your analysis. I hopefully have written out additional steps to try to fix this problem.

I have updated the permission on my 3 shared folders that house my media and I’m still getting the same error.

As advised I attempted play and download the logs (attached).

I also completed the other suggested step, but do not see text on the screen when viewing HTML. Not sure if the URL is any help:

Okay, you did NOT read my previous post.

I do not see any text on the page. I know how to copy and paste.

I’m using Firefox 90.0.2.

I have updated Plex in Synology using the following installer:

Synology (DSM7) > Intel 64 Bit.

I have set the permissions using the following steps:

1. Shared Folder - Edit - Permissions
2. Set permissions for Plex to Custom
3. Tick Administration, Read, Write - click Done
4. Tick “Apply to folder, sub-folders and files”

I have repeated this step for all 3 media folders and the Plex folder.

Does “Enable advanced shared permissions” need to be checked under Advanced Permissions tab?

Thank you very much for your patience and support. All resolved now. I was getting confused between the Previous system and the new DSM7 set up.
