I think I know and found the answer to this question but I just want to make sure from the advanced users.
I have manually installed the 64bit version of PMS and I must stop and then reinstall PMS every time I update DSM on the Synology NAS? Thank you for your help.
At the moment, If you are using DVR (tuner) or Hardware Transcoding, then unfortunately yes… but only for the time being.
I finally found a way to keep PMS within Synology application rules and handle the permissions issues prior to launching PMS as user plex (which has no privilege). The answer hit me while on holiday. I submitted it to engineering this morning upon my return.
