For the now I have added a "Kid Approved" category for movies, since some PG rated movies are okay for my children, but some are not. I also have 2 TV Show libraries, one for children and one for everyone else. It would be nice to be able to create different emplexer links on the home page that can address these libraries. It would be REALLY nice if you could also call up a library with specific filters (such as only certain categories). Also, being able to rename the "emplexer" label to something else would be helpful.
If none of that is possible, then having parental controls would at least prevent my children from watching things like "Prometheus", or "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". :o
I have to say, though, emplexer is awesome, and you have done a great job. Thank you for giving us the ability to use the Dune playback engine instead of VOD, because it instantly restored chapters in the mkv files, and subtitle control. I just hope when HDI switches to the Intel platform you don't lose your development tools.
While I'm talking about it, when I click info on a show, and then hit enter, I get "Error: Format not supported". But if I click enter when not on the info screen, it plays.
Is there a plan to incorporated the background artwork into the info screen?

Yes Peter, there are most important features to be implemented first.
I asked here because two friends with younger children would love this feature.

Yes aiden, your case is very similar to that of my friends that I mentioned.
About the dune playback on emplexer: I have to make a lot of workaround for that to work and still have several bugs related to this, but I gradually improving this feature.
About the hdi products with intel: when that happens we will have better software like xbmc + plexXMBC (hippojay that does a great job), this time I believe the emplexer no longer needed :).

You do not have to unzip the emplexer file. Only the .zip to an accessible Folder on your Nas. Then just Hit Enter with the Dune!

To install any plugin on your Dune ( emplexer too ) you need to name your file with the prefix dune_plugin and this file need to have an extension .zip ( in lowercase ).
To install emplexer download from https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer/blob/master/dune_plugin_emplexer.zip?raw=true and rename (if needed ) like this dune_plugin_emplexer.zip.
Don't extract this file, only put this file in a place that dune have acess and press enter ( on remote ) in this file.
if you have any more problems (or the same :)) is just asking for help.

Unfortunately for now I do not have a date for the 0.2 release.
The development due to external factors is slower than I would like, but it's happening and sooner or later news may appear.
