Stutter free pictures? Sorry i don't understand what you meant.

About files and server on same-machine, i have this same-setup and i do not have any problems.
the only problem is if you want to make a stream to a client that does not support direct play (iphone / android), my synology does not have enough cpu to transcode.

What I mean by stutter free is that the video pauses a lot (sometimes for 10-20 seconds at a time) during playback. I am trying to playback from my Synology to an android device, but I have a newer dual-core unit (DS713+) so I thought I'd be ok. Especially since I selected a low resolution playback (700kbps).

Anyway, I'm more interested in getting my Dune to playback anything at this point. Right now, it does nothing when I select the movie poster.

Try SMB. I have no problems at all using SMB.

Select SMB and configure the path for every section you have in Plex.

I heard NFS has less overhead, and with a wireless connection I'm concerned with bandwidth

You should be concerned if you trying to use wifi and stream hd.

Emplexer dosent transcode anything so if you have a high bitrate movie you will need all the bandwith you can get and wifi just isnt good enough.

On paper wifi is ok but thats just on paper and not the reality.

Everthing was working great over wifi with nfs using synology and dune.

Good for you! Good quality/high bitrate Blu-ray 1:1 and wifi isnt usally a good combination.

Just try SMB. You cant apperantly get NFS to work so its worth a shot. I have no problem at all streaming whatever I want with SMB.

yes, i own A-400 too, but i only use my Dune. It has better Features (pcm Multichannel Support…) and its more stable. But Emplexer for Dune like the PCH PlexApp should be worth to Take a look…


With nfs Streaming i give Up… I tried everything you mentioned, but nothing happens and no nfs-playback is possible. Can only wait for more emplexer-news:-)

Just installed Emplexer, today.  Overall, it works great, but  I have a few matters to discuss...

1.  The lag to play an audio video file takes close to 30 seconds to start. Is the a known issue?  If so, are there any tweaks with the software I may consider, or is the matter a work-in-progress?

2.  When will cover art be implemented in Music support for Emplexer?

3.  Internal MKV subtitles don't work.  Is there a workaround for this?

Because of the delay untill the movie starts to play if dune using http, i tried to use smb. But i have a problem with it. After saving the correct path in the SMB advanced configuration and reenter it, there are only the default paths. The emplexer.log says also "connectionMethod not setted use http as default" if i try to play a movie. It seems emplexer doesn't store my inputs.
I already cleared the systemcache and reinstall emplexer again. I tried nfs with the same result. Any ideas?

Visi,

The problem is the  windows paths (e: \ or \ \ share), all of which use the plex on a windows machine are going through it.

I'm doing a fix for this problem and some more.
This week if all goes as expected I release a version with this and other bugs fixed.

Unfortunately Build date 14 April does not work with music.

 It's a bit drastic, but it worked for me when I had problems trying to install emplexer a few months back

1) Delete emplexer

2) Format your USB to create a new  system storage

3) Full Factory reset

 You can now try to install the latest  emplexer   :)

I think I'll pass on the factory reset, the older version works fine for me.  Shame the channels don't work, but maybe the install will be repaired in a new version.

Yes I am.  I had problems installing the new build.  There was a firmware update recently so maybe I should try again.

Firstly sorry for this late response.
 
Sorry again for this month without any news.
I know i promised a bug fix version one month ago, but i'm currently traveling in a work and i'm not have my dune to test any piece of code.
But, this weekend i come back to my home and finaly i'll go to work again on emplexer.
 
Now i like to know, if any one have any situation that need a transcoded session on emplexer?
 
I know that the dune plays almost all files wonderfully, but in some cases transcode will be very useful, like animes (90% of my library), any hi10p videos or videos with ass/ssa subtitles (animes basicaly).
 
Any one have other situation that transcode will be usefull/necessary?
 
Another point, i recently start my study about myPlex for a possible implementation in emplexer, but i don't have acess to any shared library, if not bother, someone who shares library can add me  :).
