I am using version 1.x and have the following issue:

In a TV Series every one of the .MP4 files plays perfectly with the exception of 1 - using VOD playback the screen goes black and then it returns to the menu. Using DUNE playback mode the screen goes black and the file never plays. I never receive the buffering message using either modes of playback.

I have tested playing it with the plex web client and the file plays perfectly.

Any thoughts?

Many of the problems reported, happen because of vod playback mode.
It is possible to make the emplexer use the default player dune, so go to setup-> plugins-> Dune playback and switch to playback, it features all of the dune were available for emplexer.
 
Is worth saying that this mode has a minor issue (the player starts to play about 1 second before sending the video to the point where you previously stopped) and one big issue (sometimes the player in this mode does not send the current position of the video for PMS and the point where it stopped is not marked).
 
Particularly I use Vod playback and when I want to change to another subtitle i use Dune playback.
 
For the dune show subtitle in vodplayback need to go into setup-> Playback-> subtitles and enable subtitles by default for files with the emplexer it will show subtitles in vod mode when they are available.

You try to access that file over http, smb, or nfs?

The stand alone dune plays that file?

Can you please try to play this file with version 2 (if not play's send-me the log)?

 

You can reproduce the problem on vesion 1x and send-me your log?

With version 2.0 the management of settings seems to me it does not work. If I go into the service menu of Dune and try to start the emplexer's setup function nothing happens.

I'm changing the setup menus to make emplexer configuration more easier , very soon I launch these changes.

Hi there,

I thought i had managed to play that file with the native dune however even that appears to be failing. I can't figure it out as all the analysis of the file I did showed it to be the same as all the other MP4 files. Anyway long story short I reencoded with a different setting in handbrake and it worked.

A new version of emplexer finally appeared :). 
In this version I added a feature that would like to have added since version as player 0 Registry (control emplexer with ios, android :)). 
 
There is much to do yet, but for now any video (local) works perfectly. 
For now, the only ones available commands are play, pause and stop (I'll add the rest soon). 
It is worth mentioning that in this version the remote player (as well as local emplexer) only supports playback via http, nfs and smb will come in next release. 
Notification for PMS on where you are in the video is working properly, as well as the beginning of the point where it stopped. 
Other features are coming and will soon be possible to migrate to 2.x. 
 
For those who do not have the 2.0 version-B01, the place to download is https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer/blob/2.0/dune_plugin_emplexer2.zip?raw=true 
for those who already have the 2.0-B01 version the automatic update system should ask for update (just enter the plugin)

Thanks for the latest beta.  :)

Can you please add  basic functions in the next update, such as text info for Movies and TV shows nfs or smb. in it;s current state I don't think many  people are using it, for you to get enough feedback.

Nfs is planned for the next release, the smb probably will also be included.

 

About info screen, I will take a little longer, because i will try to use some new feature of dune plugin to make a better info screen.

Thanks for this release!  I have installed and emplexer is registered in PMS.  I now have the option of playing a movie in the web browser to emplexer; and in the web player I see emplexer as a casting option.  However I cannot see emplexer from either my android or my windows phone.  Further, if I try to play a movie from either the local web server or the web player I get an error and it doesn't actually play.

my Problem is no emplexer Bug. The Support for Bluray and ISO was removed by the Plex Devs...:(

I tried exactly the same way, but after rescan with Custom scanner, my library is deleted again... On which system do you have running your PMS? I installed PMS on a QNAP TS 439 Pro II+

I have mine running on lubuntu...my server is so low powered it can't really transcode anything, so I rely on local direct play of my bluray and dvd isos and folders.  I had to remove all my movie folders under "movies" in "my library", essentially deleting the movies library.  When I added them back and used the custom scanner it recognized everything again.  So far its been solid with the custom scanner.

Installed the beta 2 completly new because the update from beta 1 don't start automatically.

I don't see anything on my MPS on my Synology NAS and nothing also on my iPhone.

Can I keep Emplexer 1 installed and install Emplexer 2 side by side in the Dune, so they behave like two separate applications?  I am happy with emplexer 1 functionality, especially nfs & smb playback and do not want to lose that, but I would also like to test emplexer 2.

I'm running the latest 2.0 to test it out. First thing I notice is the screen. When I first launch, the first letter of all my feeds are truncated/not showing up.

Additionally, I need SMB support, I play bluray ISOs so I can't use 2.0 just yet, but liking it non the less.
