Can I keep Emplexer 1 installed and install Emplexer 2 side by side in the Dune, so they behave like two separate applications?  I am happy with emplexer 1 functionality, especially nfs & smb playback and do not want to lose that, but I would also like to test emplexer 2.

I have both installed without issues so far  :)

Thanks for the update! I can see the option to play via emplexer both in the web interface of Plex media server and on my iPhone. However, I get an error message when I try to start playback via web or app.

Installed the beta 2 completly new because the update from beta 1 don't start automatically.

I don't see anything on my MPS on my Synology NAS and nothing also on my iPhone.

That Dune update system are not so good, i'll make a better one soon.
Can you please do two things for me? 
1) Start emplexer 2 and check the address, http://yourPlexip:yourPlexPort/clients and send-me the xml.
2) Send-me you emplexer2.log
 

I'm running the latest 2.0 to test it out. First thing I notice is the screen. When I first launch, the first letter of all my feeds are truncated/not showing up.

Additionally, I need SMB support, I play bluray ISOs so I can't use 2.0 just yet, but liking it non the less.

Thanks! Looking great so far, but I haven't done much testing due to lack of SMB, but it's still installed and I am running 1.0 at the same time as well (for other person before).

I have found that sometimes I can see "Play on Emplexer", but when I try to play I have "There was a problem tryng to Play .... on emplexer" when I can see "Play on Emplexer" this is the xml:

Hi newloran2, I've downloaded and installed the latest release, could you please confirm these points:

1) When watching, player behavior is Dune behavior (to me everything is working in this way)

2) New screen with three lines of large movies tabs (very cool BTW)

3) No information screen (with actors, explanation, duration and so on)

4) No functionality of the Emplexer Control Panel in the Application/Accessories

I don't want to make you hurry. It's just a confirmation I'm looking for. I want to be sure this version is working in my Dune in the way you know is right.

Bye and thank you for your work. Now it's similar to Zappiti but with the functionality of the Plex searching tools.

thank you newloran2, now I'm sure I've correctly uninstalled the previous release and installed correctly the new one. Very cool the screen with all the queries (by folder, by, artist, by director...) immediately available and no need to press popup menu like in the previous versione.

This new one "is going to sound" very very good. Well done newloran2.

You can edit all screens in file default.json, i'll fix the overscan and will add it in the next release, but please if possible send-me your file after you ajust it (my tv's don't have overscan).

i don't think that is the overscan of the TV, because all other menues of Dune and also Emplexer 1 works fine. Overscan is deactivated on my tv for this source. It looks like overscan ;)

See all the filter is more user-friendly, you don't have to play with buttons and you don't have to remember where to find a function...is all on the screen.

i have reported the overscan bug to newloran2, it will be fixed in the next update  :)

I will post this response here, because I think these informations are in everyone's interest.

I have actually tried the first version (and i even donated money to you as well because i think you were doing a great job  :), my problem with it has been the subtitle selection and the general poor UI/usability (like episode descriptions not wrapping around in the right hand view etc). 

I didn't realize that you were working on a 2.0 version though, in fact i thought you had pretty much stopped working on it. I tried it out the new version briefly, and some parts look much better, but i can see that titles are missing etc. Is there a list of planned features anywhere (ie. some kind of roadmap of how you plan it to end up)?

Anyway, I think i will postpone looking for another device and see how emplexer 2.0 develops, Netlfix support is not that important to me, it is proper Plex support i want  :)

on the version 2 i'm focused in do a best code to support and add new features.
About the funcionalities:
 
Skins: The whole interface should be customizable to (within the capabilities of the Dune System).
The actual interface are a test to it, after i implement my personal TODO i will make other skins.
 
Filters: i'll add stackable filters like on web interface ( like all movies ->  with resolution 1080p -> from Brazil) , i really like that :).
 
Configurations:  One better setup screen (to make the users type less)
Some way to do  "advanced" configurations is very important, like a way to configure some situations to emplexer do a transcoded session instead the direct play, on my case i have many animes with hi10p codec, but some users have reported some combinations with audio and video  that are not compatible with Dune.
 
Traillers: I'm really like the XBMC trailer funcionality, that feature are im my TODO (with lower priority :)).
 
Subtitles: An option to download subtitle for one video (like XBMC), on my optionion this is a important feature missing on PMS (Ok PMS do the subtitles downloads, but if  you scan a file without subtitle available yet, that subtitle will not downloaded any more )
 
myPlex: i'm really like to add support to myPlex, I've done some tests, but I'll wait a little longer to start this functionality.
 
Control emplexer with official phone/tablet apps: i've made the inicial implementation, currently on 2.0 you can start the playback on emplexer with iphone/android apps, you can pause, play and stop the playback too.
i'll implement the other features like navigate, sound volume and others on a future release.
 
I also accept suggestions, they are always welcome.
