Dune player

Ok, I'm not alone.  :(

Probably it will be resolved  :) by NewLoran2  :)  :)  :)

I wouldn't count for that, anytime soon at least

Meanwhile you can use v1, which is still working well with 0.9.12.1 server.

I just hope, that next release wouldn't break v1 too, so we will be cut from our Plex servers for indefinite time...

Anyway, we can always migrate to android device or nuc, didn't we? ;)

What is nuc? Where can I find Emplexer V1? Is there a link?

I like DUNE because of its capability in rendering video and audio in HD format. I tried PS3, PS4 and Western Digital and I had problems with audio and video stuttering. Dune actually is perfect to me I'd like to have the appeal of Plex Home Theater.

emplexer v1 is here: https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer/archive/master.zip

NUC is a family of Intel mini PCs, suitable for media center, games etc. It can run Kodi (which is XBMC-based open source home theater software, similar to Plex Home Theater).

I'm also happy with my Dune, but it definitely lacks decent support and official applications. Most of third-party services are supported via community written apps, which means that support is provided on "as is" basis, as long, as developer has free time and not bored with app.

Is it compatible with Plex Server? Could I install a Plex Home Theater version and have DTS-HD-MA and TRUEHD passthrough? It sounds very interesting and future proof!

Thank you very much for the link I'll install the V1 before dinner :)

It can run Windows, so yes :) Also, besides Kodi, there's another linux based mediacenter software, Openelec, which supports PHT.

And i think it capable of passthrough HD audio via HDMI.

I tried emplexer V1 but it doesn't work. Same behaviour: It shows movie photos but when you click over it starts the wrong movie. i.e.: I see in the list 007... I select it and it starts 1997 Escape... (which, to me, is a better movie :D  :D).

I've got troubles with V1 and V2 since vers.0.9.12.1.....

That's fantastic! Eventually have you got any suggestions about NUC with Windows? Model, Producer...

it seems, that the problem is not with emplexer, but with your server, database issues. have you tried to rebuild you library? delete your movies folder from Plex server, clean trash and bundles, and than add it again.

The faster is better, obviously  :)

But you should look on previous page of this topic. There are two users, who recently bought mini PCs to replace Dune, ask them.

I have a Intel BB NUC5i5RYH Rock Canyon with installed Windows 8.1 and a Auviseo Remote Control so i don´t need a keyboard/mouse! It works perfect with the Plex Home Theater and plays all HD audio formats via pass though! At the moment i need my Dune TV-303D only for playing 3D ISO Files, haven´t found a solution yet to play them on my NUC!

I've just got my Plex server up and running, I should stick to version 1 of Emplexer until V2 is updated?

Also I will add, after years of complete agony with home theatre PCs I would strongly advise anyone against going down that path. Hours wasted fiddling with nonsense like smooth video playback, reclock, codec packs, xml files in XBMC, sucky deinterlacing, fix one thing it breaks another... then the result is rarely even as good as you get from a cheap streaming box. HTPC even breaks compatibility with motionflow/interframe creation because it keeps losing cadence. No thanks never again!

I could not agree more, i have also been searching for the perfect HTPC solution but it always fall short in picture quality / smooth playback / hd audio passthrough etc etc..

Newloran2,

please, can you fix just one thing in v1? that issue with covers, which are not updating, when changed on server.

i'm pretty happy with v1 for now, it does everything that i need, except this little bug.

Thank you.

To begin with I'm not a programmer and I don't have a lot of knowledge of computers. I am now trying for hours to get Plex to be successful, not good, I am now frustrated that I want to throw down the Dune of 7 high building........

I have used different versions of Emplexer and get still the message "application manifest is missing", what am I doing wrong?

I have Plex already running on my Mac, Iphone, Ipad and Samsung Galaxy but the Dune .......

Dune HD Smart D1

Firmware 150227_0032_b9

Please can and will someone help me???

Thanks in advance

hi isonic !

don't throw your Dune (or send it to me !!! :-)) !

it's not it's fault - neither yours !

emplexer is/was developped by ONE person only, who seems not to have time to update/correct it anymore...

and emplexer is/was the ONLY Plex client available on Dune :-(

it seems to work for some people yet - but I can't say / don't understand why it works for some people and not for others...

we're many in your case, where emplexer doesn't work, neither V1 or V2...

:-(

so I switched for Kodi on O-droid (but am not fortunate as many don't work neither...)

regards

Thanks Weyb I started really to doubt myself, too bad it doesn't work :-(

Sorry but then I keep the Dune for myself Weyb ;-)

Hello,

http://jmper.livejournal.com/936.html

Sorry for russian language, but i think it easy understand by pictures.

plugin has english and russian. If need other language I hope someone will help me with translations.

Any questions welcome

Sounds nice, can we use it on all models? Dune H1?

Is there a easy to use manual?

if so I can support you with the translation to Dutch

Looks good! Will try it later today.
