All media plays only by dune. No use any DLNA or http because freeze and no way play DVD and BluRay. Exclude photo library because in this case using http more comfortable.
It possible use different sources for play media. For example, I have NAS with part of movies, music and etc. Also I have dune HD Duo with 2 installed HDD and dune HD 101 without any disk. I can mount duo's hdds to nas and add they contents into NAS libraries. This way i can have my whole catalog on Plex server, but play it with different sources according plugin settings. Part from Plex and part directly from dune's hdd. My 101 can also play part from Plex and part from Duo.
In plugin connections possible to use not only SMB and NFS, but stored network folders and installed HDDs.
It possible sort order your libraries and filters as you want. Possible switch on/off if you need
Icons and descriptions are caсhed. You can clear cache to avoid problem with mixed icons or descriptions
In music library shows covers and descriptions
New
possible to upload into plugin your own icons for libraries. Just create folder dpc_custom_icons on first dune storage and put .png files into it. Next, in setup screen choose design and you can select it for each library you have
Possible save and restore plugin settings in dpc.xml file
Possible switch off all filters for library and you avoid filters screen. also you can switch on only one filter and it would be "default"
Troubles:
it seems plex based on windows doesn't work correct. need to check.
1. You are lucky if your favorit serials have unique episodes name. But sometimes it just episod 1, episode 2 and etc. In this case would be useful to see the season number
Even if the episodes are named ep1, ep2 etc. I know what show I clicked to get into the list of episodes. All other Plex clients I use on different devices don't show the show name before the episode name and it has never caused confusion.
Could you maybe make that and option in settings like "Hide show name in episode name list"?
You can also see the show name in the Dune bar shown in my attached picture.

About VOD Playback – it's a special playback mode, with automaticaly provided OSD GUI. For example, when you press "Info" during playback, you'll get standard window with movie/episode info. It is described here. Just a nice feature, nothing more :)

If you mean possibilities play something from description screen I already did it. I know it's special dunes engine, but I avoid it for have possibilities play correct DVD and BluRay

I just watch an episode of a show and it still shows up as unwatched in my other Plex clients.
If watched status and time line isn’t syncing today that’s something you shouldn’t ups look into ASAP.
One of the biggest benefits with Plex is that you have the same data on all your devices and also that you can start watching on one client and pick up where you left off on another client.

could you please confirm that when you play a movie/song on DPC, DPC in reality reads the selected file directly on the storage and doesn't pass through PMS to acces it ?
otherwise, i installed b1_02 and have some strange things :
- "fatty" posters for all movies (too large - or not enough tall)
- "playlist is empty" message when i click on a movie
- when PMS uis unavailable, DPC looses the PMS @IP apparently
I have a strange problem.
Setup went fine, I can see all plex movies and series. But when I try to view something I get a error.

Paths are OK and where automatically inserted.
Server : nas synology 713+ with 2 drives. 1:movies 2:series
Dune : h1
You need setup your connections and save them. DPC doesn't work thought http connection
I think you should change your connections for smthg like smb:// or nfs://, ie. smthg Dune is able to understand AND to access !
I don't think Dune knows what "/volume1" means, as it is a path understandable only by your NAS
I think (that was the prupose of my question above) that DPC will try to access your NAS directly, without going through your PMS
