Dune player

@jmper
Yes, i mapped the disc. everything worked fine.
But now when i try to play something on due through DPC interface, i get a message box: Does not exist connection for Z:/Movies/etc.

As for channels, anybody knows which ones do work on Dune already?

@MindaugasP
Did you setup your connections in DPC?

Update v1.093.
fixed several bugs
dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8488718/dune_plugin_dpc_v1_093.zip

When I want to start a movie from DPC, I get this error message: does not exist connection for /volume1/films/“movie title”.

I have it with all of them.

In last version? send me log file

I have it in every version. I can’t remember it has ever worked. I mainly use DPC to select which movie to see. Then I browse using the Dune folders to that movie.

Log has been sent per pm.

Yes, i did. Plex runs nice on my pc, getting all the films from the Dune. And i can play them from on my pc with no problem
I can as well browse them on Dune through DPC interface. But when i try to play them i get that “no connection” error.

forgot to tell that i did not install that new update 093 yet.

If you have message “no connections” that means you didn’t set your connections on DPC setup. Try to do it.

Morning.
This is where i got lost now.
I the setup i had previously entered my plex login, the Plex server was found automatically (very nice)
and then:

In Connections tab its not quite clear what to do:

  1. I clicked on connections [Settings], and got a dialog box
    “Connections Setup”
    Movies
    [Z:\Movies] button

  2. When i click on [Z:\Movies] i get another dialog box: “Z:\Movies” with the following fields to fill in:

Connection type: SMB/NFS/Storrage (i have it on SMB)
Server: no idea what to write here. I thought server was linked automatically before
Folder: well, the folder is Z:\Movies
Login: its not password protected
Password:

Please help me through this.

In the meantime, i go install newest version

Hello,
If your movies physically on disk inside your Dune
you need choose Connection type - Storage
and Folder - your movie folder on disk (I guess “Movies”)

Thank you for all the hard work @jmper !!

Hi jmper, do you have any news about the “SELECT” capability in MOVIES section? The same function you’ve added in TV-SHOWS.
It’d be joyful selecting three, four or more movies and let them play in sequence. Obviously you can’t shuffle them otherwise you’ll end with pieces of different movies played randomly.
Bye.

Hello Stefano, I’m thinking about it. But trouble is if then you have DVD or BD images. I can’t make playlist with it.

Can’t you replicate the behavior of the dune interface? Browse->Enter folder to view content->Select titles (with SELECT button)->Press Play.
I know it’s easier with words than with your machine code :-))

I’m stumped here too, my movies are on my Plex server of course, not on local storage on the Dune, do I have to go through every connection/library and manually enter the IP address or something? Can’t this just be configured automatically, like Emplexer does?

Hello, yes you need set-up each connections because DPC use real links for playing movies and other. Emplexer could play it without setting because it can use http connection, but it very slow

Ok, I found an old USB keyboard and put all the information in, luckily I already had all the media drives shared out on my network anyway. It was kind of painful to set up but only needs doing once I suppose. Now I’m having some further difficulties though.

  1. Sometimes when I play a media file, the plugin just crashes and returns me to the main Dune menu (sources).

  2. Sometimes when I browse my library I get two lists over the top of each other, for instance the list of episodes from the previous show I was browsing gets put over the top of the current one I’m browsing.

Would screenshots or logs be useful?

Strange, but I think screenshots and log will help clarify situation
