Are the logs on the system storage drive? Because my PC can’t seem to read that.
Edit - Nevermind, found it, dune_plugin_logs on my Dunes hard drive. I’ll see if I can replicate the bug then send the log.

Is there instructions on how to load DPC onto my dune player?

Hello, unfortunately the full instruction not yet. But you can install it as most dune plugins - just load it on your dune and press enter (don’t unzip). And short instruction on page 49.
Any question always welcome.
When you have a smart tv on which you can install the Plex app, what’s the difference between playing movies this way and playing movies through the Dune with DPC?
None. Not sure why you would use a Dune if your have a Smart TV.
I have the Dune several years now and the TV only a few months.
The smart TV will not transcode the movie? It will be the exact same resolution as the source. I mean, if I stream the movie on my TV and I view the movie on my pc, it will be the same quality?
If you use the Plex client on your tv then they’re is a good possibility that Plex Media Server will need to transcode. Dune with DPC will not need to transcode.
Why don’t you try both and see if you can tell the difference. My guess is you will not. Unless your sitting 5 feet from an 80" tv or a 12’ wide screen with projector.
Although I love having DPC, my choice for you would be using the Plex Client. They have a refined UI being backed by Plex staff and all. My use of DPC comes from a need to use the DUNE for my projector.
im only using the dune player because i am wanting loss-less audio from my BD Rips. Has there been a client released as of yet that will support the lossless audio codecs?
Hello, the main difference between Plex apps and DPC is DPC use Plex server only as cataloguer and plays all content directly without any transformations.
Thanks for the information. I’ll take a look into that too.
Hi jmper,
i have the same issue with “Playlist is empty” as MikeDelta. My Plex-Server is running on a Synology - MikeDelta describe to change the path of “/volume1/video” to “/video”. How i should manage it? Do i have to change this path on my plex server or on DPC? I tried to change the path on Setup/Connections, but i couldn’t find a possibility to change the preset path /volume1/video.
Thx for your help.

I had the same issue with “Playlist is empty”. After a discussion with jmper we came to the conclusion that it was the path to the server in the Connection setup that was wrong even though I could brows in my Plex movie library. I have a Synology which “normally” use the path “/volume1/disk1/Video/…”. When I removed “/volume1”, i.e. “/disk1/Video/…” everything worked fine.
Hi mpaxx
Do you set up the folder like on the 2d picture?(ip nas and save)

Hello, it depends which protocol you want to use. In case of NFS “/volume1/video” would be more suitable. For SMB it depends of your share point. Be careful, connections are case sensitive.
@boby31 Thanks for help. Are these pictures very old or you really didn’t use the last version (1.093)?
Hi jumper
Pictures are old .
I use the last version but i wanted to explain that we have to set up folders.
I understood
Since the last update I have experienced a little bug. When my PMS is sleeping and I first click on the DPC icon the connection times out within I would say 10 seconds. If I wait a bit then try again it works.
Also since the first version of DPC I have to refresh my Dune after power on so the DPC icon show up?
Anyone else experiencing this?

- I’m not sure why my PMS is needed right away since I though the catalog was copied to the Dune storage?
- I’m pretty sure this worked beautifully when the magic packet was first introduced in DPC.

Hello, If you try start DPC when PMS is sleeping do you see message with counting down time?
what do you mean “refresh my Dune after power on so the DPC icon show up”?

No message with countdown. Pretty sure I had one with previous DPC version. I know the magic packet is being sent since if I wait after the connection error then click on the DPC Icon it loads. After a movie it still wakes up the PMS without any errors. This bug for me happens only only on the initial launch of DPC if PMS is sleeping.

On the Dune Sources screen where the DPC Icon is supposed to show up. With the remote I select POP Up Actions then select Refresh. Then the DPC Icon shows up. If I leave the Dune on the icon will stay. But once I turn the Dune off and back on I lose it.
Excuse me if this has already been answered, but is there a way to play BD isos and folders through the DPC (with the plex artwork, of course)? Or do I have to use Yadis or a similar style indexer for this? Can plex even scan BD files for the Dunes?

Could you simulate situation with waking up slipping PMS and send me log file?
