What firmware do you use on your solo? try the last beta
I’m on the latest beta: 161107_1958_r11. Strangely, this is the same behavior that DPC 1.09 and earlier versions exhibit on the Solo 4K

Hello, please try this one dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8488718/dune_plugin_dpc_v1.3a.zip

Hello, please try this one…
@jmper, That one installed. DPC found my plex server automatically and my channels play fine. I have to figure out how to configure the connections so that my movies play. My Plex server is on a windows 10 box, but the actual videos are on a Linux NAS unit (netgear). So, I have to figure out the syntax of telling DPC where the movies actually are (smb Servername path, etc. – do i use ip address for the serer or the hostname, do i use forward or back slashes for the path ?) I’ll play with the configuration a bit. If I can’t seem to get it I’ll post back in a day or so.
Thank you! Good job on this version
(now I just need to figure out the connections
)
@jmper, Does this version fix my Error “Could not get connection for” ? I only get it for Movies. Series works.

Hello, so you have to setup your connections. For example: you have movie folder on your NAS like /my_movies/library1/movie.avi and share it through SMB with name “my_share”. Also you have mounted this share on your windows box with PLEX like disk F:\ Plex can see your movie like F:\library1\movie.avi And you have added folder F:\library1 into PLEX as “some_library”. In this case DPC will ask you to setup connections for “some_library” with path F:\library1. In connection properties you need set IP address of your NAS (or just hostname) without any slashes and set “my_share/library1” as folder. And username and password if you use it.

So my windows 10 Plex server references the NAS unit via SMB \\NAS\backup\Videos\Rifftrax\ where in the Rifftrax folder are sub folders named after the movies (e.g. 300) and then the file is in that directory Rifftrax-300.mp4.
I have tried to set up a Dune Network folder and reference that through the connections (see NetworkFolder screen shot). Then I tried setting up a connection via SMB (see Screen Shot). Finally I tried to set up a connection via NFS (see NFS screen shot). Regardless, I get the same error (See SameErrorNoMatterTheMethod screen shot). I created a dune_plugin_logs folder on the main storage, but no log file is ever written ![]()
I guess I cannot upload screen shots ![]()

When I try to select a video (300 for instance) I get

Any suggestions?
B careful with caps letters: \NAS\backup\Videos\Rifftrax\ and /backup/Videos/rifftrax/ maybe different. Linux is case sensitive.
If you setup network folder on dune you can use it in plugin connection settings but you don’t need use “Folder” field in this case.

I set up a Network folder on Dune to my NAS. The Dune Network Folder (named Rifftrax) Points to a Folder on my NAS that contains the Movie Folders and inside them are the movie files
Dune Network Folder(Rifftrax) → Rifftrax
/300/Rifftrax-300.mp4
/Abraxas/Abraxas.mp4
etc.
If I click on this folder in the Dune sources, I can see all the movie sub folders on my nas unit (300, Abraxas, …). I can then click into these subfolders to find the MP4 files. And I can play the movies in dune by clicking on them.
On your suggestion I set up the connection as follows
Connection type: Network_Folder
Net Folder: Rifftrax
Folder: (left blank)
When I try to access a movie through DPC, I still get this error
Does Not Exist Connection For \\NAS-2\backup\Videos\rifftrax\300\Rifftrax-300.mp4
I am now getting a DPC plugin log. If I could attach files I’d attach it but I cannot
just send it on my email jmp@land.ru

Sent – Thank you again for the help
@jmper
I uninstalled DPC. Cleared the system storage and the reinstalled DPC. I wanted to get you a very clean log file. I’ll send it to your email address along with a couple screen shots
Thanks
Hello, I read through the first few pages of this blog… Its huge! I have been researching some new equipment and just started looking into plex. Very nice interface but I have some concerns. I am posting here because I hope the experienced users can shed some light.
I have a Dune Base 3.0 which has served great over the years. I normally rip a iso with anydvd, mymovies. This blog appears to create an app on Dune. What format does it use? Doesnt it still need to be a mkv file? I did a test with a bd, iso on dune and plex on xbox one s. The bd of course the best picture. Iso was very close to the same. Mkv on xbox was inferior with periodic scambling, colors off, etc.
Other than the superb gui, why would one want to use plex? Thank you for any help, i would love to be able to use plex service with the same quality as bd.
Hey jmper, just to say your efforts are greatly appreciated!!! I’m a Plex user since some time, via my LG TV, but bought a Dune in order to have 7.1 analog output, which does not exist on almost any other streamer, in order to integrate with my old but very high quality receiver. So the ability to continue using Plex on the Dune is a great feature! Thanks!!
Any chance the source code could be shared publicly somewhere? (Or is it all PHP and directly readable?)
As a minor comment: The interface is pretty nice, but not as nice as what I know from Plex on my LG/Android/etc. I understand this is due to restrictions of the Dune GUI/plugin system, but maybe some tweaks (or tweakability, from the setup screen?) could maybe be done; e.g. I think the font in the movie info is too big and don’t like the green and yellow letters (would be cooler if they were grey shades). With TV series, the episode info takes the small thumbnail from the episode and stretches it full screen which doesn’t look nice, IMHO. I have not used Yadis or Zappiti, because they seem like a lot of work and require you to run a PC alongside to do scraping etc… But the interface does look pretty nice on some of the Yadis screenshots. Don’t know what tech is used there, but it would be great if we could have something of the sort in DPC!
Thanks again for this development and keeping Plex on Dune alive!!
Hello everyone
I have a Solo 4k and i don’t know how i install the dune_plugin_dpc_v1.3a.zip. Can anybody tell me what i have to do to install this and use plex on the dune solo 4k
Hi,
The plug-in is great but is there a way to see the pictures of the movies instead of just names ?
Thanks.
Forgot what they’re called but you can change display for DPC by using the colourful buttons on the Dune remote.

For pictures you have to install “system” storage dune-hd.com/eng/support/additional_features/system_storage
