Dune player

Guys, we all gotta love newloran2 here  Amazing speedy updates.

Hei beat_strandh, Thanks for your video on youtube

youre welcome. too bad though that I had all these jellyfish clip on that folder. it screwed up the look hehe.

I have some questions/suggestions.

is it possible to see information about resolution, container, sound etc when you hit the info button for the movie? you already have the synopsis, actors etc... it would be really nice to have that implemented.
and also the thing I asked before about the info while playing the movie.

I saw the question you asked before, but did not answer why I was away from home and I think it deserves a more detailed answer.

The short answer is, it is not possible to display this information in the way used today.

This happens because the dune has some distinct modes of playback, they are:

MediaPlayback: The standard that is used in dune when you click on a video.
Not used this way by which to warn the plex in the position I am now depend on some events so that this does not fire (timeEvent and positionEvent) basically the first allows me to run action after x seconds of the video starts and another allows me to place the video at the point desire so that the video starts (the time it is in plex).
In this mode it is not possible to use art and not summary, but it's my favorite way.

DVD / BluRayPlayBack: The same thing MediaPlayback.
This mode is used today to play DVD folder and DVD iso, if you notice in these cases is not marked on plex the position and not even get the point you stopped the plex.

IptvPlayBack: A special oriented iptv, is very similar to the way we used today, but also has timeEvent.

vodPlayBack: This mode is used today, it is possible to use timeEvent and positionEvent that are indispensable for the operation of the plugin.
The bad part is that the information bitrate and others are not available, but worst of all and it really bothers me, is that it in this mode for some reason the HDI has disabled the configuration for subtitles.

The combination of these modes is not possible, or use one or other uses with all the pros and cons.
I'm still looking for an alternative to using MediaPlayback with timeEvent positionEvent and when find the exit goes be possible to choose which mode to use.

Hi newloran2

so there will be no ISO support for Blu-ray at the moment?

Bluray playback is possible, but i forgot to add when i added DVD iso playback support :).
On next release at night i will add.

Major props to newloran2!! Thank you for this project. Is there any way to donate or do anything??

I just installed it for the first time today but read about it a few weeks ago. It’s working, but I also have the cover art issue. I do have system storage initialized (4gb USB drive mounted internally). I cleared the storage, then reinstalled the current as of Feb 1 2013 emplexer zip. Still no covers. So I went into settings and turned off cache. Then the covers showed up! It was slow, but they were there. I would love to have these cached to speed the interface up. So I went and turned cache on. Then it broke entirely! When I try and open TV or Movies it tells me “the area you are trying to access does not reurn any xml. (404)”. :frowning:

Other Plex clients on my network are operating as usual.

Further details:

PMS ReadyNAS Intel Version 0.9.7.12.407

Dune HD Smart D1 Version “121018_0846”

I will try to reboot/reset/reinstall stuff later today and also try to find that log file.

Thanks for this great port!! It is funny. Your port has a toggle to switch the “watched” status which is something oddly not even in the Android client!!

alexannoyed,

To help emplexer you can test, report bugs and tell to your friends :).
About your problem, i healy need your emplexer.log to see what's happend, send-me it and i resolve your problem :).

Be free to suggest any feature has you like, i will analyze and if possible will implement.

I am happy to test and report bugs! I just have no joy with telling my friends, they are too cheap to have a Dune :) I am the only one of them to be such a "pioneer" with a "high end" media streamer device. Before my Dune HD Smart D1 I had (still have, only good for SD though) a Xiova CS505 for streaming. Before that just a home brew HTPC with a Sigma MPEG2 card and ATI card for Divx and a DVD-ROM for *many* years (got tired of it being ugly). Other friends now just use DLNA and PS3 or XBOX360 or Microsoft WHS and Media Center but none are using 24x7 NAS storage for media. That is why I want to use Plex everywhere I can, to view all content from my 800 devices wherever and whenever I likes (PC, Mac, iPod Touch, Android phones, Android tablet, Roku, Samsung TV, Samsung Blu-Ray deck, and now finally the Dune).

I have not had a chance to try and reinstall everything. But here is the log file (attached) from the last point in my post after all that I had done that I found on my SD card. I copied it earlier. I see the HTTP 404 error in there so hopefully the rest around it will make more sense to you. Please let me know if you can use anything else and much thanks!

Any news on the NFS fix update newloran2?

tcviper,

Wait a bit more, next version is going with ntfs/smb fix and other fixes :).

New version are uploaded, with options to setup correct paths to your mount points.

Blu-ray iso added, but not tested (i don't have one), please test and report.

Hi newloran2

Thanks for the new update!

My ISO Blu-ray The Fifth Element DTS-HD Master plays flawlessly

I did have one issue when I first installed emplexer, I was getting an error “format not supported”, until I saved NFS again. After that ISO Blu-ray worked.

Not a real issue but I’ve attached a emplexer log file if you want to have a look.

I installed the new version. same problem for me, had to save the NFS again to make BD-ISO work. But BDMV does still not work :frowning:

“New version are uploaded, with options to setup correct paths to your mount points” is this supposed to fix the NAS issue or what was this for? I still cant play files from my NAS (I have the plex media server on my MacBook).

but great news that BD-ISO is working. keep up the good work!

Well, I was not at all clear in the description of the new functionality even.
From now on whenever the connection type is changed to the new nfs or smb setup screen appears.
Basically the label is each directory that was added to the plex and the text box is the url that emplexer uses by default.
This url considers that the file is on the same machine as the PMS.
In cases where the files are on a different machine of where the plex is, you need to set it manually.
This manual configuration is required by the plex does not distinguish local and remote directories, everything is the same.

How to configure a remote path with nfs?
Put setup emplexer the same way you used to mount the share on the machine plex.
EX: nfs :/ / 192.168.1.2 :/ videos / movies.

The same goes for SMB but the url changes slightly.
EX: smb :/ / user: password@192.168.1.2 / myshare / path / to / MY_FOLDER

The Syntax used is the standard dune http://dune-hd.com/firmware/misc/media_url.txt.

As for the reported bug that actually is not a bug, it really is necessary to reconfigure the settings to be updated.

I do not know if I could be clear but any questions just ask.

Hei People, live and learning :).

I thought it was not possible to show the information of codecs with vodplay, but discovered that it is possible \ o / \ o / \ o / \ o / \ o / \ o / \ o /.
Just press the info / enter to display the information from of video, then press the Select key on the remote.

Newloran2 , you should make a new thread under Third Party Clients > Other on the forums like: Emplexer for Dune

with all the posts in there and a download link as a first post so people can discuss about that  Way easier instead of having to find the download link within posts in this thread.

oh yes, my NAS problem is solved. it had typed the wrong path (V instead of v)

and now bitrate info… this is really good. only BDMV support and some subtitles issues left then

Yes, great idea, it will also give emplexer more exposure :D

beat_strandh,

Install emplexer again, yesterday i upload a package with a small fix for BDVM but i don't know if work (i don't have one :().

PS: Now smb work to, plz people test with smb to.

.

Sorry people, in last github commit i introduce a bug that reboot your emplexer, plz if have any problems try download installer again.
