Duplicate Artists and Albums

I have a premium music library. I have re-created it several times, but I continue to have the same problem. That problem is duplicate artists and albums being displayed. I asked this question in the OSX specific forum, several months ago, but have not discovered any solutions to it, so I thought I would broaden the audience a bit.

I can assure you that I didn’t have about 20 different spellings of AC/DC or ABBA. Or any other band. Where I did have different a couple of different spellings I corrected them. I think if you look at the images linked in the original post you may get an idea of the magnitude of the problem.
