I know this has been an issue in previous builds but since updating to the latest beta, I’ve had issue with the scanner detecting 2 files with the same name and creating duplicates even though the naming is identical as shown in the pictures.
I’ve looked at all my settings and nothing has changed but recently updating the software. The only way I’ve been able to correct it is doing the good ole Plex Dance but that takes time when almost every piece of media coming in is creating an unnecessary duplicate. Maybe every 1 in 3 will be good and not show a duplicate. Logs attached if needed.
It does it both for my Movie library and TV library. I have Plex Movie the defaulted agent for the movie library and then TheTVDB for tv shows. This has never been an issue until I updated.
Is it possible you use sonarr? This happens because you probably enabled the option Scan my library automatically & Run a partial scan when changes are detected on your PMS and you also enabled the option in sonarr to send a message to Plex when a file has been imported. When both processes start scanning at the same time Plex thinks they are separate files . The only solution is to disable on of them and I recommend you to enable the option scan library daily to make sure no files are ignored.
