Duplicate Library When Share with users

I’ve just created a new personal videos Library that I shared with users in My Home and with some friends. In the Share menu to tick to give them access the new library is showing twice. How do I fix? I’ve tried deleting the library and re-creating, but the same problem.

Thanks - I’m using the linuxserver unRAID docker

I have exactly the same issue after deleting the Movies library and then adding it back. Now when I invite a friend, it shows up twice and you have to select both since you don’t know which is which. This seems to be the only place it shows up twice.

I have tried removing the server and adding it back with a new claim token, but it did not work. I also emptied the trash under Libraries, which did not work either.

Plex Version: 1.13.5.5291
Plex Platform: Docker
Host Operating System: Debian 9 (stretch) - Hyper-V VM
Media Shares: CIFS Mount to Server 2016

what I’ve done is call the library ‘dummy’ to start with and then I’ve renamed it e.g. to ‘Movies’ - Dummy is still in the list, but at least I can just tick the single ‘Movies’ entry

I am having the same issue after creating a new VM and having all of my movies loaded on a NAS. There seems to be another user reporting the same thing on Reddit. Curious if this is a new/recent issue.

Can confirm that I see this issue also.

Figured it out. I went to Settings->Devices->Servers and removed the server with the duplicates. I then logged back into the server and re-claimed it. Warning: you will have to share the library once again with all of your users.

Give that a try and see if it works for any of you guys.

I’ve only got the one server

Yes, same here…only one server. There was another thread floating around about duplicate libraries from mutiple servers.

I can confirm that this worked for me. I needed to close my browser before I could access the server again.

More information about my one and only server:

1.13.5.5291-6fa5e50a8
Plex Media Server
Docker Container
Linux 4.9.0-7-amd64 (#1 SMP Debian 4.9.110-3+deb9u2 (2018-08-13))

Same issue here. I recently rebuilt this server and when creating each library Plex either timed out or had some other issue stating “Unable to save changes”. I would then save it again and this created the duplicates. I deleted any duplicate libraries I could see, but they still exist when trying to share with friends.

How can I reset this cache or DB to only show libraries that still exist?

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Plex 1.13.5.5291

Same issue here. Only one server. Any Ideas?

i get double libraries shared when i log in as http://localhost::32400/web/ but when i login at 127.0.0.1:32400/web i get single library shared

I finally solved my issue by deleting the server then adding it again with a new name.

  1. On Plex browse to Settings -> Authorized Devices -> Servers

  2. Delete the offending server

  3. Login to the local URL of the server

  4. Change the name of the server

  5. Add the server to your Plex account again.

hmm hoping there’s a solution that doesn’t involve re-sharing as that’s a lot of effort

I managed to get rid of the duplicates by just removing the server then re-adding without the need to rename.

ok, I just went for it and I fixed the problem by deleting without having to rename server.

Re-sharing with friends wasn’t as bad as I thought as I thought I’d have to add them again - I just had to re-select the libraries.

FIX
I was able to fix by removing and re-adding library. Duplicate disappeared. Keep library the same name.

Same thing happening to me. I have a post in another section on here and I think I’m just going to delete the database and start fresh. I only have a single server and when creating new libraries (and even one existing library is exhibiting the same problem)… when I add a friend and am selecting which libraries they are allowed to access, I see the new test library I created listed twice.

Super annoying.

read up the thread - solution is to delete server and then re-add
