Duplicate Local Plex Server

Some time ago I notice that my server shows duplicated.

Not sure what but I’m guessing this happen when I replaced the raid (I added more disk) on my server, then moved all data on same folders, including plex data folders, etc. and plex start working like never happen. BUT:

When I connect to my server, using the web client, ON my server browser, I see duplicated servers:

Despite that I access using the LAN ip address or localhost or 127.0.0.1. BUT when I click on status (I see two servers too.) then I click on the number to see the activity. Its says No Soup For You

Then If I go back or I click on home button, says that there is not connection to the server. But if I refresh the page works.

If I play content works, and I can do everything but enter to configuration page or activity.

This happens ONLY when accessing plex from the same server machine. If i access thru my lan, or even a virtual machine running inside the same server, everything works perfect.

Any idea where I can start checking?

I was going to upload the logs bot not sure which on is the needed.

Thanks for your time!

Server Version#: 1.15.3.835
Player Version#: 3.83.1 (web Client)

Re

Check if the issue persists if you use app.plex.tv instead.

Sorry I missed to mention that if I access thru app.plex.tv it works perfect too.

Just with any local ip address from the same server

Then keep on using this hosted web app, until this newer version has been bundled with a new server release.

Thanks again for the reply. What you mean is that I just leave the bug alone, and may be its fixed on a future release?

I have no problem with that. I was just wondering if maybe this duplicated server will send erroneous data to plex (company) and I have trouble with my license or something

The bug is already fixed in the hosted web app. The hosted web app is a newer version than what you have local.

Even if it did: there is no restriction of how many servers you can have on your account.

I don’t want to be that user that contradicts everything, but, it works from any other computer with same web client version, just locally is not working. and always worked from app.plex.tv, since day 1 (like 2 month ago). sooo probably the problem is not the web client but something or some loop that is created when accessing from the local server.

It is perfectly possible that this bug only affects the localhost server.

I noticed this exact behavior duplicate server and all just yesterday evening when I found out I was transcoding/streaming to a remote user’s apple tv 2, it’s super annoying to be locked out of the settings pages when you’ve just logged in on the server with the admin account. The CPU load for the process was intermittent and only about 30-40% bursts every 5 seconds or so, my outbound bandwidth is well under a meg/sec.

Version 1.15.2.793 indicates it is up to date.

Also have this behaviours logged in on local network via web , everything is duplicated, it wont let me into items, and says I have no access tot he server. Streams appear to be duplicated.

Version 1.15.2.793 I have to log in, log out and log in, every time. this is annoying.

Well seems that I’m not alone on this :frowning:

I am seeing this same behavior after updating my server for the first time in a few months.

far from it, I reported the issue about a month ago (and several updates) still having the issue.

Guy did you tested on Incognito windows in the browser? seems cookies related. Since on a incognito tab, I re-login and see 1 server. but in normal browser despite logout and in again still seeing 2 servers. I’m going to clean cookies

EDIT: Well this worked for a minute or so, now again duplicated servers and no soup for you at settings accessing server from same machine browser :(:frowning:
So frustrating
For now the only solution is to access thru app.plex.tv

Original:
Well that actually worked for me. No more duplicated servers (at least for now)

I just deleted the cookies (more info on how to do that on specific site in chrome here: Clear, enable, and manage cookies in Chrome - Computer - Google Chrome Help) |

I deleted all cookies that includes plex in the domain (including forum, www, app, etc). and local ip address (http://[server-ip]:32400). Re-Logged in and now is not duplicated anymore. And so far no error “no soup for you” either. Hope this work for you
