Duplicate media wont stack / or show up as duplicates

I’m having an issue where any duplicate i add, doesnt show up as a duplicate, but instead creates a new item. and its not from using 2 different metadata agents.

any ideas?

Two possibilities:

  1. You did not Refresh Metadata of the whole library, after you converted the library from the old to the new “Plex Movie” agent
  2. the old copy of the movie has been matched with a different metadata agent. Meanwhile, you have changed the default agent of the library. So new additions get matched with this agent instead. If you have two items matched with different agents, Plex will never consider them to be the same movie.

The way to solve this depends on which of the above is fitting your situation.
Please determine the content of the guid=".. property from the Plex XML info of the old copy as well as the new copy.

i dont use multiple agents, never changed the default agent, so not sure why it would do this…but i will give this a try and report back, thanks

I have the same problem. Duplicates won’t show as before

No solution here?
If the dashboard is set to auto, it won’t show duplicates.
If the dashboard is set to manually duplicates are shown.

i still not have figured out the issue. my tv shows wont show up as duplicates, unless i go to the tv shows library, and choose the filters all to duplicates, and tv shows to episodes
