I’ve been adding HD and a duplicate SD version of movies for years, and the movies have merged automatically by themselves almost flawlessly. An occasional blip, but the Plex dance always corrected it immediately.
It all worked about a week ago, because I know I had added a couple of movies with lower quality copies about then. Today, though the SD version insisted it was it’s own version of the movie. The poster, metadata, etc appeared identical in both versions, and both versions claimed they were matched properly. Plex dancing the SD version returned the same result. It was it’s own, separate instance of the movie.
I merged the versions manually, but I think this is a new bug. The only thing I can think of is that I have been experimenting with the theme music for movies, and this was the first time I had added a duplicate that had theme music. As usual, trailers, extras, etc are only included in the HD version folder.
Attaching XML for the merged versions, which should show the folder and file naming (I believe it’s all correct) and server logs which should include the first attempt, the Plex dance, and the merging procedure.
Movie library uses the Plex Movie scanner and agent, and was created only a couple of weeks ago.
