Trying to setup record for new show on FOOD network called Spring Baking Championship. It comes on at 9pm and again at 12 midnight. I can peg the recording to a specific time, but at that time it is not flagged as “new”. I don’t think it will record, but let’s see. I don’t have enough tuners available at 9pm to record it then.
If you have “New Airings Only” selected and the midnight airing is not identified as “New” then it will not be recorded. The “New Airings Only” is for shows that are identified as “New” i.e. the first time it has aired on TV, and not for shows that would be new to your library since you do not have it already.
Then it is misleading for the “Recording Schedule” to show it on the timeline if it’s not going to record. it.
What do your recording settings look like? If it is on the schedule like that then apparently you have it set to “New and Repeat Airings” and not just “New Airings Only”. Based on your mentioning that it was not flagged as “New” was the basis for the previous comment.
New airings only and limit aring time to 12am
So, I checked just now and it has disappeared from the schedule. Changed my setting to new and repeat and it can back. Should record it now. Maybe the reruns won’t run at 12 midnight on some other night. I’ll just delete if they do.
If it records at 9:00 and the same episode is aired again at midnight it should not record as long as the 9:00 recording is still on the system.
That’s true, but that’s not my problem. I can’t record at 9 because I don’t have enough tuners available at that time. So, I want to set it up to record at 12. Other than having to tell it to record repeats, I think it will work for me.
