I’ve started using the Plex DVR to record certain TV series. I’ve noticed that even if the “New Airings Only” setting is selected, it records any episodes that are not currently on the DVR, even if they are repeats or older episodes.
Is this the way it is supposed to work? Or is it in fact only supposed to record episodes that have never aired? I think there should be an option to record only new episodes, whether or not they have already been recorded previously. i.e. only first-run programs, and nothing else.
BlaEls - have you confirmed if those that are not New that they are actually recording? When I set a TV series to record all new airings, it puts on the three white dot recording series symbol anytime that show is shown in the TV guide, but does not record things that are not new. I would like to request a feature request update for the record symbol to only show those episodes that it is actually recording (like WMC does)
Sorry for the late reply on this, but yes, I can confirm that the episodes are NOT being recorded, they only indicate in the grid guide with the 3 dots. I think this is confusing, and the recording indicator should only appear for episodes which are actually going to record. @BigWheel can we get a feature request for this?
