DVR: Can Plex record a show based on "key phrase" that is NOT in the schedule?

I would like to record a show that only airs “once in a while” and I never know what channel it will be on. Is there a way to setup my Plex DVR to search for any show with “keyphrase” in the title and automatically record it regardless of what channel/resolution it happens to occur?

Okay, here is an (admittedly lame) real-world example: In the Bay Area, the show “The Love Boat” used to be available on Comcast over MeTV - it no longer is broadcast on Comcast, however, another channel called Decades has been known to run marathons of “The Love Boat” from time to time. I do not want to check the listings every day for months hoping to catch the show listed so that I can go to my DVR settings and click “record”. I would like to just enter “The Love Boat” and have it automatically record any show by that title whenever it shows up in the guide.

If someone could even let me know where the recording schedule is stored, I could probably just edit that by hand.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It’s not possible to record thing by keyword only. It has to appear in the guide to be scheduled to record, I’m afraid.

You wouldn’t need to actually schedule a recording … you could just provide an alert under the Account icon, like you do with news. Then leave it up to the user to actually schedule the recording.

My use case is that many channels show trailers for their upcoming summer season or winter season, long before the show features in the EPG. Would be great to be able to log an alert for those shows so that I’ll get reminded when they appear in the EPG!
