DVR can't find any live channels on Windows Server 2008

I just bought a Hauppauge tuner (the one for Xbox One) and I can’t get any channels. I installed and used the device on my Windows 7 PC with no issues. The issue seems to only happen on my server running Windows Server 2008 (dual quad core CPU more than capable for Plex). I installed the drivers from the website on Windows Server with no issues. When I go to DVR setup It finds it with no issues and I can select it but when I scan for channels I can’t get any. No matter what I do it say’s no channels found. I used 3 different antennas in multiple locations. It asks me to select the type of scan (which it doesn’t do on my windows 7 PC) and then goes straight to 60 something percent then says no channels found. I used the tuner on my Xbox One as well as the Windows 7 PC and it picked up about 40 channels even with my cheapest antenna. Clearly somethings up with Plex on Windows Server 2008. If the tuner and Plex are both compatible with my OS I see no reason it should interfere. I currently run Plex on Server 2008 with no issues and have been for some time. Please help! Thanks ahead of time.

Edit: As the person below pointed out, this seems to be an issue with Windows Server as it doesn’t appear to find channels outside of Plex in its native software. The Drivers appear to install without issue. I’m not sure what drivers I would replace them with to fix this issue.

I have the exact same problem on a 2016 server, but with the DualHD tuner. I don’t know if this issue would be specific to 2008.
Have tried using drivers built into WinTV8 (Thought I would test outside of PLEX to ensure it wasn’t a PLEX issue), as well as stand alone drivers, but no difference. Have also tried running WinTV8 in compatibility mode for Windows 8 which doesn’t help, so my guess is it is driver related.

Really frustrating, as I don’t really want to rebuild my PLEX server on Windows 10.

Interesting to hear it happens with WinTV as well. I was wondering this. As far as not wanting to rebuild on another OS my thoughts exactly. There has to be a way. I put a great deal of time and effort into this server and I have other tasks it preforms that would be a headache on 7,8,10. Hopefully someone out there can help.

Just FYI, if you add BDA support to Windows server knowledge.zomers.eu/dvblogic/Pages/How-to-add-BDA-support-to-Windows-Server-2012.aspx it will (in my case) allow you to find some channels, but I found rather than having 70 odd channels found from a desktop, it only found 11. Definitely still some driver/software issue there preventing full compatibility.

Yes I realized that as well. I tried for a few days with no solid solutions. It does seem to be a compatibility issue with the Hauppauge devices and windows server. Since I couldn’t find a solution I bought an hdhomerun. Runs perfectly so far so long as I don’t install any 3rd party apps to my server. I was having issues with scheduled recordings till I removed the plugin.
