DVR College Football Lots of errors

I am trying to record the Michigan vs Michigan State Football Game Saturday Oct 25th 7:30 Eastern Time on NBC 4.1.

In the catalog this shows up as a generic “College Football”

First Error: Inaccurate Metadata

There are many generic ‘college football entries’ and they all show the same even “From David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan” This is across many channels eg 7.1 ABC.

Second Error: Wants to record to Movie Libraries only (rather than TV DVR Library)

If I click on the event to record the libraries it lets me record to is just my 2 movie libraries rather than my DVR library. Google says this is because its not a typical season/episode of normal TV it screws up.

Third Error: Guide shows even if I limit to just 4.1, every “College Football” as selected.

What’s Ironic about this if I look at the DVR Schedule it shows only the entry for November 1st! Not the one I want on October 25th even though it shows the record red dot in the catalog.

Forth and most important Error: Isn’t appearing to even record the exact airing I want. As noted above it is selecting the wrong date of November 1st. So right now it looks like I cannot get it to record what I want?

Summary: This is a real headscratcher. It looks like Plex cannot handle the generic ‘college football’ entry this is all on top of not being able to make the recording in the mobile app at all. The biggest issue I cannot figure out how to tell it to “Record exactly this entry in the catalog and no other”. I can live with the wrong library, and the inaccurate Guide labels, as long as it records the right session.

Help? How Can I record 4.1 exactly at 7:30pm on the 25th?

Are you using Plex’s guide data or an XMLTV source?

Good catch, I thought I was using EPG but because of limitations in plex I was using threadfin+Channels+TVAnywhere to get some of my DirectTV Stream media available by plex. I forgot you cannot mix XMLTV with EPG and I can’t even figure out how I I did it.

That said I deleted both tuners (HDHR and Threadfin) and re-added HDHR and this time Channels showed up on it’s own and added it. Otherthan the lineup being really bad I’m getting much better options. The guide still says Teams to be TBD, but it’s reporting as TV and giving me football only options.

I have to go manually tweak all my guides again to disable channels that don’t really get good lock, and Plex picked my stream subscription against uverse which is close, but it skipped a lot of channels. I can manually match these up.

I’ll keep messing with this but this is cool if threadfin/xteve isn’t needed anymore to get channels everywhere to work.
