DVR Episode Guide information is wrong for multiple shows

Greetings. I am noticing recently that DVR Episode Guide information is wrong for multiple shows.

Example 1: Modern Family (channel 5/505). The EPG has the season correct but the Episode number wrong. This is causing issue with meta scraping, but may also cause problems in the future with recording later episode this season.

For example, this week Episode 12 is airing, but the EPG thinks it is Episode 16

Example 2: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Channel 12/512). The EPG has the season correct but the Episode number wrong. Last week, the DVR recorded Episode 1. The EPG has this week’s episode listed as Episode 1 as well, so even though it is marked as “New”, it is not appearing in the DVR schedule.

I’m experiencing the exact same issue with Modern Family; Plex recorded it as episode 16 when it really is episode 12.

Tonight’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Channel 12/512) is still set NOT to record even though it is a new episode.

Welcome to the club. You have to manually fix the filenames and rescan your library every single time the epg provider mislabels programs. It’s a long standing issue.

That is the issue with the Modern Family recordings. The DC’s Legends of Tomorrow issue is completely different, as those episodes won’t even record.

and they don’t exist mislabeled in your library? When I can’t get episodes to record it’s because plex thinks i already have it due to the bad guide data issue being described here. It is impossible to force plex to record a duplicate episode if it contains S/E data.

There are no existing episodes of DCLOT. The season just started, so there are no existing episodes.

Sorry, just commenting on what I read…what did you record last week then? a preview?

The prior week’s episode was marked as another episode from the previous season, S04E17, when it was actually S05E01. Season 4 only had 16 episodes.

I checked the DVR schedule again this morning an it now appears that the EPG data has been corrected in both instances above.
