No problem, hopefully it remains stable for you. Hardware encoding may just be a bit more sensitive to transient signal quality issues; software encoding may be a bit more resilient.
If I may offer though, foregoing real-time conversion entirely may be the best option. If you plan on keeping/archiving the recorded content after watching, it may be better to employ a post-processing script. Just a thought.
