DVR not recording

I have America’s got talent set to record. It recorded previous episodes this year. Last night did not record and tonight its on again. Plex Guide shows its on tonight and is new however it is not in the DVR schedule. Recording Priority says next air date is 8/18/20

How to I fix this? I have done the following:

  • Updated to the latest version of Plex
    *Updated EPG data
  • Stopped the recording and set it again
  • Tried recording this episode only
  • Tried recording all new episodes
  • Tried recording all new and previous episodes.
  • All the other settings are default -does not require HD, not a certain channel, etc

Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 4.40.1
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun CONNECT
Guide/Lineup name: DVR—NKTelco New Knoxville Digital
Using XMLTV?: Not sure
Channel number/Name: 2 WDTNNBC

I’m having the EXACT same issue with the exact same show. Single episode not working, series shows the next episode on the 19th. I can’t get it to record anything prior. It was working a week ago.

What does the Plex Media Server Log says about the recording? It is generally best to post the server logs as they will typically show what is occurring, Since no logs were posted can’t see what was in them for the recording for tonight. If the show is on it would be interesting to see if the logs say that the episode already exists or some other reason.

If you want to ensure you record the episode tonight you could create a new TV Shows library and schedule the recording for tonight in that Library instead of your normal TV Shows library already setup.

Debug is apparently not turned on. If you just turned it on a restart of PMS is required for it to take effect.

Your logs are filled with error messages where Plex is apparently trying to connect to a device:

I tried creating the new library and just recording a single show and that worked. Why would that be? Thanks again for your help.

Found this in the logs.

Appears there is already an episode in the library for Episode 12.

Strange, because I’m just recording off the guide. Is there a way to clear that? The episodes are new. Thanks for looking.

Not in the EPG at this time. Perhaps if it had been reported earlier an Employee could have reached out to the EPG provider. From what I can tell looking at Zap2It website the EPG is correct for this weeks show, perhaps last week the episode was marked as E12 instead of E11. I have no clue as this is not a show I record.

I would suggest what I mentioned earlier about creating another library and setting up the recording to use that Library.

Well I just checked in to see if anyone had responded and it looks like I missed out on fixing for now. All of the responses went to my junk mail :frowning: Next week is on the schedule so I will see what happens.
