DVR OTA Recordings fail again. .Grab subdir made, no file inside. Logs attached

Once again, recordings have failed. I can see subdirs created in the .grab folder at the right time, but there is nothing inside them, and no show was recorded.

In this case, I was trying to record Stargate SG1 per the schedule below. Both threw some kind of error…

Attached is the log file below…WHAT is going on to cause this terrible unreliable recording situation? Some things work, some don’t.

All I see in the log is:

Are you able to access the tuner using some other software such as VLC? You can start a network stream using VLC to test if you can display the channel the recording was supposed to use. Use:
http://192.168.1.206:5004/auto/v32.6 for the network stream which is what Plex tried to use.

Well…drat. The channel 32.6 has VANISHED from my HDHomeRun Connect tuners.

A secondary Android app shows a good signal on the channel…87% signal strength, 71% SNR Quality, 100% symbol quality.

Yet…the tuners now no longer have it in their list! A rescan also does not reveal the channel any more!

Firmware on the tuner is 20170707beta2…which I’m beginning to regret upgrading to, but that was days ago! They channel had worked since then. Just within the last 24 hours…no more channel…

Well, the broadcast channel in question has now had “technical difficulties” for the last 3 days…so I can’t blame Plex that at all.

They are broadcasting, but the signal can’t be interpreted by HDTV tuners…not on TV’s, not on HDHomerun Connects either.

They are working on it…sigh.

This problem seems to be related to some incompatibility with changes made to the broadcast channel and the HDConnect HomeRun tuner on the 070717 firmware. I’ve uploaded raw capture information to silicondust per their request for analysis. Issues recording this one channel of 32.6 in Atlanta is not a Plex issue.

I tested the channel with a direct connection to an HDTV, no HDConnect tuner, and the channel resolved properly.
