Unable to tune channel error DVR

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#: 3.71.2
Tuner: WinTV DualHD

Just some background on what’s going on, my Plex server is on Ubuntu and I access it via Nvidia shield and the web client to watch live TV. Most of the time I watch live and recorded tv via the shield. I normally watch 3 channels, 7, 9 and 10. I have scheduled recordings on 7 and 10 happening at almost the same time (one starts 30 minutes after the start of the other). I watch 7, then switch to 10 (watch the program from start while it’s still recording) then watch 9 live.

First problem: Periodically, I get a recording fail error on 10 but it still shows that it’s recording and when I try to access another channel (outside 7 and 10) I get a prompt to stop recording of one.

Second Problem: When I try to watch live 9 or 10 on the web client the next day, I get the “Unable to tune” error and sometimes recordings on 10 fail. Weird thing is when I go to the shield and try accessing the channels, I can access them (after a few failures) and they are then accessible on the web client.

The log I managed to grab when I try to watch live tv from the web just has this;

Oct 08, 2018 19:09:01.465 [0x7f496e3ff700] Error — DVR:Recorder: Error 3 (The recording was aborted) starting the record, shutting things down.
Oct 08, 2018 19:09:01.465 [0x7f496e3ff700] Error — DVR:Recorder: Error 3 (The recording was aborted) starting the record, shutting things down.
Oct 08, 2018 19:09:01.465 [0x7f496e3ff700] Error — DVR:Grabber: Starting media grab failed.

Here’s the logs I get when I try to then access the failed web channel from the shield.
Plex Tuner Service.log (3.6 KB)
Plex Media Server.log (2.1 KB)

I hope this can give clarity on the issue. I’ve had these issues for a long time (more than 4 months but thought it would get resolved) Is this a known bug or one that’s just been unnoticed?
