So when I want to record something that Plex sees as part of a series, for example the evening news, all I can do is to add to to the Library “TV-Series”.
But I do NOT want “the news” to show up under my TV Series.
How can I configure that so I have more freedom to add a recording to any Library I want?
It would be nice to have a library called “TV recordings” for example.

Create yourself an additional library, type ‘TV show’, which points to a separate folder on your file storage.

Since Plex doesn’t allow to combine movies and TV shows into a single library, you will also have to create a nother library of the type ‘movies’.
Depending on how the airing is classified in the EPG, it will end up in either of those new libraries.
You can select which library is used when you set up the recording job.
Great, thanks. That at least got me half way.
However it would be nice if I could configure in the DVR settings, that for TV Series, it should ONLY use this specific library, and for Movies, this specific library.
Apparantly when I want to record a Movie, I get 6 libraries to chose from, because I get select both my Movie library and also my different Video-libraries. Here it would be nice that I could “hide” these from the DVR selection.
I’m mostly thinking for usage with my family. It’s not that usefriendly that they have to select the correct library every time for a recording. It woul dbe good if I could configure that upfront.
It remembers the last used library and will offer this as default when you schedule the next recording.
