Dvr recording folder

Why plex doesn’t let us to choose where to save the recorded live tv movies or series? I really want to chose other folder than my movies folder.
Is any solution to add extra folder for DVR?

Add a second folder to a library.
When setting up the recording (schedule), pick this library and this folder as recording target.

Keep in mind that you may need two libraries prepared in such a way.
One for recording “movie”-type of content, and one for “TV show”-type of content.

Pro tip: make sure that the additional folder never runs completely empty (for instance when you delete recorded videos after watching them).
You can easily avoid that by placing a tiny .txt file into the folder.

I actually recommend you to create seaparate libraries solely as recording targets.

I was trying to create other series library. When I select record from my nvidia shield for example the only path to save the file is movies folder. Means that other libraries are completely ignored.
Select library. Only Movie.

That is because the item you want to record is not marked as a tv show in the EPG. In this case you have to select a “movies”-type library.

Yes. Because webgrabplus doesn’t heave on my country epg for categories. Also xteve does not fixing the problems. Only plex can do something that users can choose manually the path.

For my country epg from plex or hdhomerun is not supported. Means that I’m stuck with webgrab+plus. And to modify manually every movie or TV show on xml file will be pain in the…

Pls for plex developers to add this feature in the future.

Also second problem was after recording in movie folder, I moved manually the content to tv series folder, watched then deleted. Now I’m stuck with what was recorded on DVR in the app and I can’t do anything because the file is missing. Will be nice to have an option to remove the recorded file even if the file is not there anymore.

On then ending I hope that plex will manage this in the future.

Thanks
