I can record ok, with my Plex DVR using Freeview in the UK, but after each recording in the scheduling screen there appears an error for every single recording saying “An error occurred while postprocessing the recording” . The files are still view able in plex and can be watched fine. why is this appearing for all recordings? Im using the latest PLex pass version (Version 1.7.2.3878 )

I don’t have a solution, but I do have a similar problem. Recordings run as scheduled, and get sent to MCE Buddy as a post-processing step successfully. Then, if I happen to have my TV on, Plex throws a system alert that a recording has failed. A few minutes later, the commercial-stripped show DOES appear in my library, but the recording schedule no longer has any memory of the recording having taken place.
It’s not a huge deal, since the shows (mostly) do appear in the library, but something is definitely amiss.

I’m guessing that your MCEBuddy post-processing removes the original file? Mine does as well–MCEBuddy strips commercials, places its output in the proper hierarchy in my TV Shows folder, and then deletes the original from the .grab folder. I don’t know if it causes a visible error or not, but it looks like removing the original file makes Plex think the recording never happened because it’s gone from “Recording Schedule”.
I dont have MCEBuddy installed at all, but still get this message.
@rwhapham Thanks for this! I turned off that option in MCE Buddy, and it all works as expected now, including cleanup of the .grab folder when the whole thing is done. (Now I just wonder how badly this will all behave when timeshifting gets added eventually…)
@Rosewellzz Do you have the DVR doing any post-processing? I’ve seen that specific error before, and a server restart cleared it up. I think something happened with the app that was handling my post-processing in that case.
