DVR Recording only a small portion of the program

Hello. Its HD homerun, and it has 2 tuners. I wasn’t using any of the tuners when it was supposed to record. I know that it is not related to the number of tuners, because this happens all the time, and we only have this connected to 1 tv, which we are not using at the time.

No worries, just something to check :slight_smile: I have the connect duo as well, and just wanted to make sure :slight_smile: I am really wishing I had bought a pair of Quatro’s lol…

The location the recorder uses for Scheduled programs is different than the one for LiveTV/DVR. If you set the Transcode location to your TV drive then you should have enough space.

Thanks, I will change the location.

There is 25GB free still on that drive though, do you think that is causing the problem Im having? That drive is smaller, but its SSD, so very fast. How much do I need to allocate to transcoding? Do you think it makes a difference to have SSD for the transcoding drive? I can probably put a bigger SSD in there if it makes a difference.

It looks like they are getting very conservative with the space check probably to cover 2x the space in case you do comercial removal. Unlike a movie transcode a recording keeps all segments and then processes them into a single file. An SSD isn’t absolutely required, 2 tuners would generate 30-40Mb/s max.

Rough Estimate:
1 hour 16 GB per show
2 hour 33 GB per show
