I have shows in my folder, but noticed that some of the recent shows were not there… shows them to be recorded on DVR schedule, but not sending them to the folder… I tried resetting some options and several of the missing shows … showed up but not all of them… I am really a rookie when it comes to this… probably something very simple… I use HDhomerun and WD EX2 ultra… please advise
Do you record a lot of things and do have the option enabled to remove commercials? That can take a while on your EX2, so maybe the recorded content is still in the queue waiting to have that done? Do you see a load on your CPU?
You can look in the media folder for a .grab folder. If there is a file in there, then it is waiting for something.
No I dont have commercials skip enabled but it did it again last night, skipped two shows. Any ideas where they would be if they were recorded?
I’ve been having the same issue recently. Seems to impact my reruns only. New Air shows seems to work fine. Today for example, i had a rerun schedule to record. Saw the server recording the episodes. Once it stops recording, I do not see any files created in the show directory.
Setting wise, pretty simple.
Record - All
Airings - New and Repeats
Resolution - Prefer HD
Allow partial airings - Enable
DELETE EPISODES AFTER PLAYING - after 1 day
rest of the settings are default.
Let me know if you need any logs. last schedule record that had this issue was about an hour ago.

Are the episodes that got skipped episodes that you had previously on your server? Did they also record the night before or just earlier in the same day. If you have that option enabled to “delete episodes after playing” and it was suppose to record last night, PMS could have deleted them over night when it runs it nightly cleanup due to that condition being triggered. “Play” in this instance does not mean to actually play the video, but whether the video is marked as “watched”, which would have carried over if you had that episode before.
If that’s not the case, I’ll need to see your logs too.
That is not the case, I have recorded and watched several shows and they do not automatically delete, it was Good Girls on NBC on Friday night and it skipped that show about 2 months ago and then was fine… how do I get you the logs?

it down loaded a file folder with a bunch of logs in it… no zip… and it won’t let me just send the folder… I have no idea which log you need… help?

That is the correct log. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go back to the 22nd. You’ll have to wait until the next failure and provide new logs then.
From what i have been observing, i watch the server record the episode from 11am to 1130am. I know watching the activity and dvr schedule, the episode it being recorded. Once i see the activity is done, i go to check if the episode has been added. At that point, it pretty random if it get added. I’ll check today to see if the issue reoccurs, if it does I’ll send you the logs. Any specific log you want or just everything?

Those are the same files. The ones I am specifically looking at are the “Plex Media Server.x.log” files. That’s where the DVR recording info would be. The oldest only goes to the 23rd.

That just says your tuner exists. 
Very frustrating that I keep losing shows, is it that the Ex2 Ultra cant handle it?

Issue happen again today. was schedule to record two episodes one at 11-1130 and the second at 1130 - Noon. The first one work fine recorded and was added. The second one failed, recorded but did not get added. I uploaded the logs. logs should have ended at 14:20 pst and issue happen around 12:00 pst
